Yes, but nothing about a selling limit. Its also unfair some people don't have a limit and some people do. I've always paid the fees and have pretty good feedback.

Seller limit

I've been an ebay member since 2000, and haven been selling on and off since 2002. I pay the fees and have pretty good feedback. I have gone to list an item and I get the following message -

You can not submit your listing due to the following problems

Alert

At this time, you can't list any more items with this account. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

eBay occasionally places limits on accounts in order to help keep our community safe. This limit isn't a reflection on you -- these same limits apply to many sellers.

I sold two items on 20/04/2014 and one on the 10/05/2014. In the past I have been able to sell much more without this "limit". I few months back, I tried selling a car but wasn't able to unless I started it at something like 99 cents - I wasn't able to list it for a price nor have a buy it now price.

When I queried it with ebay, they said all sellers have this limit - which is not true (I know friends who don't have any limts).

What is going on?

because of price of your goods. There is a I believe $7500 limit. You would have exceeded that. Also your percentage is getting low.

You have $6,980 worth listed, you have a monthly limit of $7,500. You can't list any more than $520 until the engine has ended. If the engine sells, then you only have $1,000 left in your monthly selling limit, minus what is currently listed at the time.

The trick is not to be on and off.

My main account has no listing restrictions, but I list and sell constantly. And I started selling in 2009, before the restrictions came in. This account has a listing restriction, but I opened it in 2011? Somewhere around there. The point is eBay introduced restrictions for newish sellers a few years ago and if you are a sporadic seller, you have probably been caught out by the new rules. Especially if you are caught years after the rule changes.

it protects against shonky sellers. It is an automated system. You need to ring eBay and get your limits lifted if you think you have a case.

That is the point where you ask/insist on speaking to a supervisor.

It might not be fair, but it is the way it is.

I have over 1,000 listings on my primary account, and I kicked off my fair dinkum selling with 300ish. I would have had to jump through many hoops to get that level, but I was extant (and selling) when they brought the limits in.
