Missing parcels

Would like to know of missing parcels via Aus post Bungalow Cairns Qld . I have posted about 400 items and had 1 returned and 2 go missing . Both missing parcels went to Cairns and were tracked as delivered . Both were delivered from the Bungalow delivery centre , both signed for but both weren't received by the buyers . Seems to be coincidence .

That's very disturbing. I wonder if the signatures bear any resemblance to each other.

I'd lodge an Australia Post Customer Complaint form for each parcel and get AP to investigate it. If you don't get a satisfactory answer from them, take it to the Postal Industry Ombudsman.

As advised Contact AP as soon as you can. Sounds to me like the sig's showing maybe the contractor for AP and items may still be en route if outside normal AP delivery area. Wouldn't panic yet, but see what AP can tell you tomorrow.

What you have to understand is that all parcel deliveries are now done by contractors, and when the contracts were tended, the successful applicants weren’t those who were prepared to provide the highest level of service at a reasonable price. Instead price only was the determining factor, with the contracts going to the lowest bidder.

The simple fact is, it costs the contractor time and money to card and return parcels to the post office, and this can and does have a significant impact on the already thin margins which the contractor receives for providing the service. The solution, if the recipient isn’t home, sign it off and safe drop it, and if it goes missing, deny all liability as its been signed for.

Initially when this happened to me, either directly, or on receiving a complaint from one of my customers, I would lodge a complaint Australia Post, with the outcome being less than satisfactory. Therefore, now, every time this happens I lodge my complaint direct with the Postal Industry Ombudsman

I received a registered post parcel safe dropped at my front door on Saturday. I found it in the morning not long after I got up.

I checked the tracking number straight away. It said "in transit" that time. I checked it again this morning and it said "delivered". I believe the delivery guy signed it.

It was lucky the parcel wasn't stolen while I was sleeping.

It seems some delivery guys aren't doing the right thing.
