ARRRRGGGHHH

ebays aust post postage service won't recognise the MELBOURNE POSTCODE 8011!!

What's the point of having a postal service on ebay if it doesn't / won't let me use it!

I think that not being able to do them with the incorrect postcode is a good idea, but they should AT LEAST have all the postcodes in the system!

Add the postcode and suburb to the click and send/post service information and then try again.

If it won't allow you to do it, call C&S and they will lead you through, they are really helpful and it does not take long to get through to them on the phone.

It happens quite often when PC's have to be shared with other towns etc or are not a standard link with the state's code (ie: vic = 3).

I think you'll find that the correct address for postcode 8011 is Little Lonsdale Street.

i thought all victorain post codes start with 3 ,maybe try 3011

I knew Melbourne has different postcodes for the city itself, i presumed that they just sorted them....

But you know what they say about presumptions....

postcodes starting with 8 refer to a particular delivery centre not the suburb as such

it should have been entered as whatever the postage method allowed. Presumably in this case Little Collins Street. That is the beauty of the system - it won't allow you to send to an invalid address, and once you find the valid address, it is, by definition, correct.

Just work with what the postage sytem allows. There is no need to complicate things. You are, after all, dealing with a bureaucracy. But the best bet is KISS and using AP addresses for AP items accords with that.
