If you mean tissue paper large sheets like the ones used in retail gift shops, then I buy it online. It usually comes in packs of 500 sheets. You will find it in the business / shop supplies section.

A little off topic but I really want to source some of the paper that is a weight in between tissue paper and butcher paper.

It is brownish, recycled and I first saw some in a package I received from Germany. Love it, has a natural/rustic quality to it.

I use 'Chinese tissue'. I guess you'd call it cheap, but it's fine for wrapping stuff in my shop and if you need it to be tougher you just use 2 or 3 sheets of it.

Here's one, it might even be the one I bought last time:

261248774706

In my opinion, anything else is a waste of money unless you are wrapping up expensive luxury items.

Crikey, if you have any of those big storage unit companies (like National Storage, or Kings etc) they sell all manner of papers, tissue wrap, butcer's paper, peanuts etc in pack sizes from 25 sheets to a gazillion and you can have a look before you buy - they usually have an office/retail outlet on site. I know all this because am now officially homeless (sort of) and am madly trying to prepare myself mentally for the joys of packing up a house that I've lived in (and hoarded in) for the last 20-something years. Yikes.

Marina.

Tissue paper weight is apparently 10-35 gsm, butcher paper/newsprint around 44-48 gsm. So the one I am on the look out for would then be between 35-44 gsm. If it was available in white I reckon you might quite like it, Crikey.

Thanks, am searching on and off ebay. There is certainly a wide range of paper types available but am still struggling to

find paper in the weight/texture I want. 17gsm would be a very very light tissue whereas I am after something that is heavier tissue leaning towards newsprint in weight. Gotta love these challenges.

I have found that many packaging related oz suppliers that can't supply with your needs are on the most part very generous in pointing you in the right direction so i reckon worth emailing a few suppliers to see if that elicits any leads.

There is certainly a wide range of paper types available but am still struggling to

find paper in the weight/texture I want. 17gsm would be a very very light tissue whereas I am after something that is heavier tissue leaning towards newsprint in weight. Gotta love these challenges.

and the hard part is to buy some to have a look, you can't usually just buy a few sheets - you need to buy a whole ream!
