Hi I can't find the Item Sold Email option anywhere, but I never changed any setting related to how I received those emails. I have attached a sample email of what I received since this morning, note that the Buyer field is buyer's name and NOT his buyer ID. This now makes my searching based on buyer ID in Gmail impossible.

ALSO note that this buyer bought ONE item from me and see how this email says 2 in the Quantity field! I almost got caught with this. This is extremely confusing I have to check against paypal email or item page to verify the correct quantity purchased. I cannot believe this bug is not identified before it rolls out.

ebay if you are not preparing to invest in quality control than don't make useless changes and create new problems.

(this message is for the experienced sellers only, if you are a buyer then this information is not for you)

Oh dear everytime ebay makes a change it is always a curse, they said it is for the better I say it is a stupid change, made by those people who do not understand sellers.

Today I saw a change in a email format received by a seller (that's the email sent to the seller as soon as the an item is sold), and all the info and link I always need no longer shows in the email and I have to click into the item's page and click deeper to find the info.

The now hidden info in the email includes buyer's ID and address/postcode, and a link to send invoice / contact buyer and probably more. Without these all other info in that email is basically rubbish, and it take much more effort to send invoice & communicate with buyers among many other things.

Worst still ebay even get the quantity field wrong, if I have 2 items for sale and one was sold, the email just says 2 (the original quantity and not the quantity sold) how could this even get passed the system test stage (or user test)???

There was nothing wrong with the previous email presentation so why ebay remove all those essential info???

I guess it's only the shop sellers who are receiving the new email format, however I can see that you also have an ebay shop so this is strange. May be the system migration is taken in phrases and not to all sellers at once. If you got the new format in the future please update the post and tell me what you think, thanks.

What I can confirm is that Ebay definately bring in different systems for different sellers on an ongoing basis. I have three selling accounts and each one has a different system for uploading photos. ie. 3 different systems. The best one seems to be a trial thing as it regularly sends a message asking me to comment on it, but it has been in place for a number of months. I havnt been offered the option to use the new photo upload systems on my smaller accounts. I have two different systems of applying postage costs ( one account is still the old system, one the new with the different codes for each postage cost. ) etc. As far as I know all of my settings in account details are the same and I use the same browser on all accounts so its definately an ebay fiddling thing.

I have two different systems of applying postage costs ( one account is still the old system, one the new with the different codes for each postage cost. ) etc. As far as I know all of my settings in account details are the same and I use the same browser on all accounts so its definately an ebay fiddling thing.

so what does this have to do with anything? you said you don't receive them LOL

Thanks for pointing out the sale date on the screen shot which is of course incorrect, and another ebay advised that field was showing the End Date of the listing rather than the sale date! So the emails I received yesterday has many wrong information.

Strangely today everythings returned to normal just like the good old days. I have not changed any setting or browsers etc and I always logged into ebay Australia. So what happened yesterday is still a mystery.

I do recieve the emails. Like many others I just dont use them. I use the icons in my selling page as my references. What I was pointing out was that just because you or some other sellers may not be experiencing the same problems and seeing the same things as the OP does not mean it is "just him" as you put it. Ebay have different systems operating at the same time, the whole system is not completely standardised. The systems that ebay offer you could be different to what ebay offer the OP. Many ebayers are not aware that different systems are running at the same time and so have trouble understanding why some sellers may be experiencing problems when their own system is operating as per normal. Nothing personel, Harley, " just sayin"
