What do they say is different to the listing. Just because the item is the same item that you photographed it does not mean that there is nothing different.

It could be as simple as being broken in the post.

Ask for a photograph of what they are complaining about and go from there.

There is more to a description than a photo. It also includes the written description, condition, measurements (especially if clothing), defects

How do you know it was not damaged in transit? How do you know there was not a minor fault you did not notice? If it is the hand made hat are you absolutely infalible and couldn't possibly have got a easurement wrong?

As the buyer would have to return it at their own cost in order to get a refund what would be the point of them saying it was not as described if there was indeed nothing wrong with it?

Politely ask them what the problem is and ask them to supply photos. You can tell them they may return it and once you confirm the faut you will refund them in full, if there is no fault then you will refund them item price only.

Sorry, I just saw on some of your listings that you offer a money back return within 7 days that save for the timeframe is otherwise unconditional.

If this policy was on the listing of the goods that the buyer has purchased, and they have contacted you within this timeframe then you need to honor your return policy.
