Changing Name

I am wanting to change my eBay ID because due to a fox attack yesterday morning, I no longer have any of my chooks. I currently have items listed and some have bids, would it confuse the bidders if I changed it now, or should I wait until I have nothing with bids?

Sorry about your chooks, Chooks. I was going to say that it would be best to wait, but you are always going to get new bidders.

I think it would be ok to change your name now and you can answer any queries if any buyers are worried.

You could change your name to ilovedmychooks and then hardly anyone would notice but I suppose you are a bit upset about the whole thing.

Thanks to both of you! The most upsetting part was losing my almost 12yo duck. Had her since she was a few weeks old. She lived way past her life expectancy, but was still really healthy. I expected to go down there one day and find her gone from old age......not like this. I feel like I let her down. At least being a fox, it would've have been a quick end.....just not pleasant for us to find.

My new name will be similar, so hopefully no-one gets confused!!

BAH!!!! The one I wanted was already taken!!! Who'd have thought?! So, I modified it slightly with some dashes. I guess it will change on here when I time out and have to log back in?

Oh dear, I am not sure that substituting sheep for chooks was a great idea. You may be mistaken for someone else, especially on CS.

That's so sad and upsetting.

I'm a primary school teacher and for a while we had chooks and ducks all set up beautifully at the school where I was working. The senior kids were able to look after all the needs of the birds, without much imput from the teachers and they loved it.

Unfortunately, they also fell prey to foxes. The worst thing was that the kids discovered it first and it was really traumatising for them !!

There was a drake and he put up a valient fight to try and protect the other birds, it was clear to see. In the end, not a successful one. Very upsetting to think about, even now !!

I really empathise !!!

Ahhh, oK, I just refreshed my eBay pages and it changed it. I'll try logging out and logging back in again.

That is so heartbreaking.

We found a horse down - being a Sunday took the Vet an hour to arrive - at least her head was in a lap till then.

I am so sorry - perhaps it should be - istilllovemychooks.

Did your Duck have a name.

Brings to mind the past week.

My daughter is at UOW - ducks all over the place - and - have the 'right of way' always.

Old 'Angry Duck' passed on - they found a new head duck - red over the nostril type.

Put out a comp to name the new head duck.

Out of over 900 entries they have posted for a favourite to be voted - the include Bill - Wally etc.

My daughter most disappointed her entry didn't make it.

She suggested - Gregory Peck - yep

Because he starred as - Atticus Finch - yep

In - To Kill a Mockingbird. - yep

At least Ma voted for it.

Bettyboop, it is a horrible thing to find and it must have been simply awful for the students to find them. It was hard enough for us adults. The really frustrating part is, my chook house was fox proof....or so I thought. I always knew we had foxes in town, so took extra precautions. We still don't know how it got in. No diggings (can't anyway due to buried wire), no chewed holes in the fence, the roof was still intact. Only way it could have possibly got in was the 3" gap under the gate. Even the neighbours cat couldn't get through there. Even if it got in that way, I can't work out how it managed to get 2 of the chooks out and take them away.

It is not necessarily a bad idea.

There used to be a poster on the boards who used "sheep" in various IDs that she used. Let's just say that she was controversial at times, especially on CS.

I just thought that there might be some posters who see you as the that poster re-inventing herself again.

Sorry if I have upset you but just be ready for any backlash that may occur.

Sometimes it is not a good idea to have a long history on the boards....too many memories, not all of them good.
