As a seller I would not have any of those terms in any of my listings. I don't think they are customer friendly.

As a buyer I would read and ignore them anyway if you were selling something that I really, really wanted.

Completely agree that they would have me hitting the back button.

I have on some of my newer listings that if you are not paying with Paypal within 4 days to please let me know so I can exempt you from the automatic unpaid item process, I then feel perfectly justified in rattling their cage on day 3 and opening a dispute on day 4 😉

Going against the grain I guess, as those terms wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

1 - If you don't receive confirmation of your order / shipping advice within a certain time-frame, please contact us. No problems there.

2 & 3 - comes across to me as the exact same feedback practice many (many) sellers have - i.e. not leaving FB unless it's received first, and that a pos received is taken as a general indication that the item arrived and all is well. No, I wouldn't have such things on my own listing, but still not hitting the back button...

4 - Please don't leave negs without contacting us about the issue, if you do, we will assume you don't want the issue resolved. Again, I don't have a problem with that at all, especially since I would never leave a neg without contacting a seller.

I'm guessing those sellers who follow those practices don't want to advise their customers of said practices because it would reduce sales....??

As a buyer I am asking why a seller would even mention these things?

1. If you haven't received any email from us after 5 working days money has been transferred, please send email (quote the payment date / time / reference / bank branch number/ bsb number, etc ) to us. We will chase it up for you.

OK ,so I have paid (and within the time requested) and it's now day 5 and you haven't communicated with me yet so I must email you and you will kindly 'chase it up for me'.

Well that's just such a very generous of you to go out of your way and such a thing for me (you paying customer)

         2. We suggest our customers to leave feedback after the item(s) received.

yes that makes sense. If I want to leave feedback I will do so and do so as I feel appropriate and only after receiving the item I have purchased.

3. After we receive your positive feedback, we will do the same for you at the same day.

So I can't expect feedback unless I leave positive feedback?

4. Please keep in mind that leaving negative feedback before contacting us will end all communication between both parties. If there are any problems, please contact us as we will definitely try our best to solve any issues!

I'm thinking if I hadn't heard back from my message sent (as instructed) on day 5 after making my payment, I may not bother trying to contact you ?

and re saying all communication will cease between both parties ?

really ? lol

I have put up how I personally interpret those terms in order to clarify why I would not have a problem purchasing from a listing that contained them. I haven't said, or suggested, others are wrong and I'm right in regards to how the writer of those terms intend for them to be taken - nuances do make a lot of difference, perhaps the writer of those terms doesn't know how they come across, or how to make the same intention > result sound more 'customer friendly'.

If a seller needs to "explain" the meaning behind their terms - and if there is some level of risk it will be misunderstood - then IMHO maybe it might be beneficial to seller and potential buyers to reword it.

JMO but I can't see the point in T & C except for entertainment value ie when a seller writes 'now for the boring bits' or 'now for the nitty gritty' or ' if you don't pay I'll leave you negative feedback' etc. ;\
