I think your photos are too big. I just downloaded your photo, and the dimensions are 1944 x 2592 pixels. By cropping it, I got it to 1482 x 2127 - still too big (file size is 410kb). I then resized the image to make the longest side 1500 pixels, and this bought the file size down to 236kb.

I am at my wits end trying to get eBay to accept my photos, no matter how I change the size it still come up with "oops, it looks like you missed something. Please fix the problem" . eBay, if you can tell me exactly what the problem is I will try again to fix it. So what have I missed? I having been trying for the past two day to understand why, up till three day ago I was able to get all my photos accepted. Now I can't get one on the selling site. Can anyone help me with this problem please, I have even downloaded a resizer from the net, I have also had a friend who is a PC tec (I have a Mac) who can't understand why my photos are not being accepted by eBay.

I am so frustrated with not being able to ring eBay and find out why, does anyone have a number for eBay? Does anyone actually work at eBay.? or do they only have computer tec changing thing to suit themselves. I have only been on eBay for a couple of months, and already thay have taken off the notice You item has been sold, also there is nothing from Paypal saying if you have been paid. So I am running around the eBay site trying to find if the buyer has paid, all this only add to my frustion at not being able to finish what I started.

I'm sorry you're having trouble but it just might be the Friday glitch - a lot of maintenance is done by ebay on fridays and some things don't work as well.

the correct size is: Photos that are at least 500pixels on the longest side we recommend 1600pixels.

I would have put about 37 to 40% of the pic U attached - on my pc that pic is 1944 x 2590, which is way too big.

I have found that 700 on the shortest side works well for me.

You being on a Mac is irrelevant. A photo is a photo (JPG) no matter what the source. I'm just wondering if your photos are in fact too large? (if the attachment is an example of typical size). I usually make mine 1500 pixels on the longest side. File size of my photos can vary from 100kb to 800kb depending on how much colour is in the photo. With yours at over 1200kb, this suggests to me your photos may be too big. Is there a way on a Mac to determine pixel dimensions of a photo?

Then again, it may just be a Friday glitch as someone has already suggested.

At least you got a relatively polite message from them, I got :-

View all listings that's missing photos or include photos violating our policies !

Well, since none are missing photos, they must all be violating policies and they were all items I re-listed, so no new photos.

So looks like I have some adjusting to do also 😞

AAAhhh - not quite sure what you are trying to show me here.

My post was not about pixiels but about the size in kbs of each photo that seems to be acceptable.

I used to do around 80 kbs but eBay in their wisdom rejected them so just resized and voila.

Done.

Same pics - don't look any different - given these are very small objects not sure why the size of the photos matters as the gallery seems to show the same clarity or lack of it as previously.

Antoinette,

Your problem is image size.

Your image is 1944 x 2592 pixels which in itself is fine.

Unfortunately the image size is 14.4 Megabytes which is about twice the acceptable size:

From eBay:

"If you can't upload your images, make sure that your image is in the correct file format (e.g. JPEG or BMP) and not too big.

Use your photo editing software (usually included with new digital cameras) and resize your picture to 7.0 megabytes (7000 KB) or smaller.

Here's the fix:

What you need to do is resave your imge as a jpeg.

With most imaging software you will be given the option of setting the jpeg compression.

Simply adjust this down to about level 6 compression.

Hint: you will normally get an evaluation of the final image size when you are doing this.

(often a live preview of the results as well).

Another hint:

Try to set the final size to less than 1 megabyte or you will be faced with protracted upload times.

Also, if the image is much over 1 Mb your listings will be slow to load.

You don't want buyers to have to wait too long for the image magnifyer to load.

(it will not function until the full size image is loaded in the background).

What you initially see when you open up a listing is just a thumbnail.

I hope this helps

They are of course related, but not directly.

Ebay seems to prefer you to use an image that has its longest side around 1600 pixels or so. They don't specify what its file size should be, other than setting an upper limit (which slows down loading of the page if too big).
