What am I doing wrong? listings and postage

Probably a stupid newby question. I am in New Zealand and trying to list my books. When I fill in all the listing details and go continue I get this message.

"We're unable to calculate your postage cost based on your current item location. Please enter a valid item location which includes the City, postcode and Country.If your item location is not within the US, please select flat rate postage."

My location details are entered in my accountand it shows as selected on my item.

under domestic postage I have selected "Flat"

under international postage I have selected "standard delivery from outside AU" and have selected where I wish to post to.

For the life of me I can not work out what is wrong. TIA for any help.

Sounds like you may have registered or listing via ebay.com rather than ebay.com.au ?? Not sure though ...

No I am listing on .au. Are any NZers out there that can give me pointers to what they did?

I think you have to pick a service under domestic post options - from the very bottom of the pull down list - a choice from under services outside of Australia, as you are listing on the Australian site - and need to offer a AU Domestic post option.

Having a look at other eBay sellers in NZ, they all have as a domestic post option - a pick from the services outside of Australia choices.

This may sound silly, but log out and try again tomorrow.

Friday is eBay maintenance day, and all kinds of glitches can occur, it could be something as simple as that.

Let us know tomorrow if you still have problems

Turns out I needed to select Freight and bulky items rather than calculate shipping.

Now the problem I have is when I got to start the auction the connection gets reset. I hope it resolves itself.
