What an absolute rort ebay fees are. The pretext of advertising that to list your item/s are free but then charge an exhorbitant insertion fee is an insult to anyone's intelligence. How does one list an item for sale without inserting it? What a joke!!!!

Surely this blatant rort is criminal to say the least. Misleading to say the least.

To add insult to injury, to charge the percentage of FVF ( final value fee) is another criminal fee rort & to include any postage charges as part of that. Postage costs are not what goes in a seller's pocket, it goes to Oz Post, it's not a profit that the seller makes.

I'd advise anyone who can rort ebay, the best of luck & hope every seller does it.

Virtually everyone gets an allocation of free listings every month and there are periodic bonus allocations sent by email and usually posted in this forum. You only pay for listings above our allocation and for extras you may choose to use. So technically it is free to list a certain number of items, I rarely pay an insertion fee, it's not that hard if you juggle your free listings.

FVF on the other hand, that's a whole different kettle of fish, but you don't get anything for nothing in this world so what can you do?

If I am selling something for 500, I list it for 550.

If I sell something for 10,000, fee is capped at 250.

If I sell a car or caravan for 20,000, fee is capped at 60.

And 40 free listings per month that becomes 160 free if I opt for the 3 free relists.

Not bad for the number of hits ebay gets IMO.

You have 12 items listed with good descriptions. Put an ad in the SMH with the same description and see what it costs you.

3 of your listings are listed in 2 categories. You pay for the second category each time they relist, they aren't part of the free allocation. So if they relist 3 times, you will be paying 12 lots of insertion fees.

A couple of your listings you say they are advertised elsewhere, you can't do that. If you are going to list them on eBay, they can't be listed elsewhere.

Your Rick Amor Lithograph, you specify that you will only post if they pay via direct deposit. You can't do that either. If people want to pay via PayPal, that is their choice. You can't turn around and say no, I won't post it because you paid via PayPal. Quickest way to get a negative feedback.

If someone wants something posted and you want to add $10 for the packaging (a bit excessive IMO but it's your call), then you add that onto the postage charge when you send the invoice. You can't put the postage at say $13 in the invoice and then expect the buyer to tack an extra $10 onto it. They only pay what's in the invoice.

You need to read the terms and conditions.
