Gosh no free listings??

I know what you mean, have been getting them every fortnight, should have been last Thur or Fri, was so hoping we would get them today.

Fingers crossed we get any in October.

where are you situated? and how many free listings do you get per fortnight?

Here in melbourne, we get 40 free listings a month and can relist a few times for free.

We used to get 100 a month without the free relistings.

I agree!! It's so frustrating! I'm backed up with so many items to list and 40 listings are simply not enough. Based on when they usually offer them, they are not on schedule. Fingers crossed that they might still turn up or at least 200 and not 150 listings next week!

frustrating....absolutely.

without free listings, prices have to be put up from the seller.

we pay fees for the sale cost and the postagew cost.

Ebay are just as bad as the banks.

Take, Take and Take.

If not for the sellers, there wouldn't be an Ebay.

They really should look after us more than they do.

We can't give a negative feedback.

Yet the buyer can give a negative without a problem., and if they do, (for no real good reason)

we, the seller has to fight ebay to have it removed.

40 is not enough if you have do well and get that magic'' POWER SELLER STATUS''. No free relistings then so if you only have 40 listings a month and if you only sell 30% so you end up relising 70% over the month my maths is not good but that would be about 12 different items only a month??

I'm a Powerseller and get the 3 free relists. Try clearing out your browser cache and restarting your browser, That fixed it for me when the box disappeared a few months ago.

As for the free listing promotions, they are a bonus and not something that should be expected. If you are finding that 40 freebies a month isn't enough, open a store. EBay aren't obliged to give them to you, so shouldn't expect them. Just be grateful when they do offer them!

Think of the poor store people, they rarely get free listing promotions. When they do, it often doesn't suit most store holders because they are for items over $100.

I'd love some free listings too, but I'm not holding my breath for them. I just plan my month and spread my 40 out in case eBay choose not to have a promotion for that month.

didn't store owners last weekend get a ridiculous promo of like 1500 free listings?! - I may have the no. wrong but it was a fairly unobtainable no. to use up - unless you don't have a life...

I think eBay are delaying the 150 free listings on purpose.

If they are given out next weekend, the vast majority of listings created will end on November 1 or later - thus eligible for eBay's new buyer protection benefits.

I mean, that would make sense from eBay's point-of-view, no?

Yes, they had 10,000, but that's the first time in ages they got some. Us non store sellers were getting them every couple of weeks there for awhile.

I am not really computer savvy. Do you mean delete tempory files, cookies etc? for clearing cache please? I did that but nothing. I have never had the 3 free relisting feature ever, and on phoning ebay a while ago they said I was not eligible.

Which browser do you use? If you use Chrome, go up to the 3 little horizontal lines at the top right, click on that, then click on Settings. Scroll down as far as you can and click Show Advanced Settings. Under 'Privacy', click the clear browsing data button. Untick all the boxes except cookies and cache images and files. Up the top of that box, change the dropdown to say 'the beginning of time'. Then click 'clear browsing data'. When it's finished, close your browser and reopen it.

If you use Firefox, click on the 3 horizontal lines up the top right, then click options. Then click on Privacy. Then Clear Your Recent History. In the box that pops up, untick everything except Cookies and Cache and make sure the dropdown at the top says Everything. Then click Clear Now. When it's done, restart your browser.

If you use Internet Explorer, download either Chrome or Firefox because IE is evil.....plus eBay doesn't work real well with it.

When I lost the relist 3 times box a few months ago, I sent eBay an email and they said it was because I had sold too much to qualify, but also suggested clearing the cache which may fix it. As soon as I did that, the box reappeared.

Please let us know if it works.

With me, they're wasting their thinking power, I will relist when I get the free promotion, not before & not after Oct 31.

Maybe they're waiting for Nov 1 to give the extra free listings & if they give us some next weekend I will be cutting the number of days (maybe to 3 days & no auto-relisting. I have already relisted 39 items, but now have had to cut the days to 3 as of today.

As from tomorrow (for 2 days) I will be unticking the auto-relists, the day after that the auto re-lists will be un-ticked & changed to 7 days, & so on, till they all drop off the active listing by Oct 31.

By doing that, there should be no defects for cancelling listings - gee, just one day I might come back - when eBay come to their senses or more likely 'when pigs fly'.

Do U think ebay maybe in trouble trying to sort thru the items that sell on or close to Oct 31 & the others that sell on or after Nov 1 with their new 6 mth policy? I hope they are talking about sale date & not date paid !!!

I don't think that will be an issue, and I'm pretty sure that it will be sale date.

What I do think has the potential to be a problem is that eBay listings do not last forever once an item ends.

At this stage a listing expires after 3 months... and it will be terribly hard to argue for/against 'item as described' once the listing has vanished from the website. I'm not sure if eBay are going to increase the number of months that they archive their listings for (that would seem logical) or whether they are just going to act under the assumption that very few users would take more than 3 months to make a claim...

Thanks for the info. I have internet explorer but as that is nearly useless, and very old, just decided to get a new computer this week now. That will be FUN I do not think, bit scary if I can manage it or not, so will get back in touch re how I go. Guess that will mean the cache is clear anyway?

I'm happy for U with your new computer as eBay is bringing in a new thing with 'no access to eBay with an older browser'. They're getting into the little seller/buyer AGAIN.

I don't know when it's supposed to come in, but the people with an older browser will probably think the site has crashed.

Gee, I wonder what they'll do next? Maybe we will have to have Windows 8 or 10 to access feeBay !!!

That doesn't sound very nice of Ebay, but then Ebay isn't very nice , I have a new computer and won't use it much, back to my old windows 7. if you need more than 40 listings open couple other IDs, I have run out on this ID, but have some left on hubbies and daughters. They don't even look at ebay, and after I get rid of my stock , which is going down, no more buying or selling on it.

Just looking at the paypal policy, the new rules seem to be on every site you may want to sell on , if you take paypal elsewhere or a website. I wonder how big business will take it.
