\

hI does anyone think this is right........I listed a cabinet saying it had lighting when the bidding closed and the buyer was coming to collect the next day i realized it did not have lighting so i messaged him the night prior to pickup, he thanked me saying i should relist, so i did, because of a policy i cannot change the description now for second chance offer to read correctly, we are not allowed to change the description 12 hours prior. Surely it is important even up to the last bid to get the description right for the purchaser, there should be an alert section to alert buyers of a last minute change.

Now it is relisted with the incorrect desciription and i cannot change it wihtou closing the listing applying to close it, applying for a listing fee refund etc etc.

This is crazy

So the buyer was fully refunded including postage this was done through ebay, however now she is asking me to remove the item from her list of items purchased???? Ummmmmm I don't have access to her list of items purchased and I probably cannot or should not be able to change it as it is part of HER ebay so what do I do now and how do I explain this without causing offense?

You can't remove it and neither can she. All she can do is archive it, but it will still show up in there.

Only way it can be done is if eBay deletes the entire listing from their database. Unless the item was against the rules, it's unlikely they would do that.

I wonder why she wants it removed? Does it upset her that much?

Wow call me paranoid but something doesnt add up. First the item does not arrive & now she wants all trace or evidence that she even purchased the item removed? Hmmmmmmmmm very strange. Sounds like she is trying to hide something or cover her tracks.

lol............... yep I really do sound like one of those crackpot conspiracy theorists hahaha

I wondered that too, whether she was a scammer of sorts and wanted all traces removed in case she was ever caught out. It would be interesting to see her feedback.

I did suspect that from the start as she took over 3 weeks to advise me of not receiving her item, needless to say she immediately went onto my blocked list and I have now started using postage labels so all is now tracked. Thanks for the advice I will let her know but I suspect she won't be pleased.

... and if I may suggest that you put a follow-up against the feedback you left for her (assuminig you did so) that says something like...

"<UserID>: Refund given due to item reported lost in post <date>"

The userID is important as part of the comment so we can see who it is and add her to our special lists if we wish to.

That way all other sellers can see when they look at her feedback that this has happened and if all sellers do this then the track history becomes very clear and a permanent part of her FB, and may stop her from doing it in future.

We normally send out replacements rather than refund so our comment says "replacement sent".

Really?

Thanks for the back up there.

I think it's a bit harsh when a buyer's id is bandied about as being

a scammer involving INR's, when there is no evidence of that in her FB

left for others.

3 INR's in approx. 300 purchases is fair enough.

She buys a lot of stuff.

She even gave a positive for something that turned up broken FGS!

Yeah, let's put her on the BBL

She has a few INR's, but I wouldn't say she has a 'history'. They are spread right through her feedback left for others. There doesn't seem to be any pattern.

She left some negs and neutrals throughout too and I'm wondering if those were for ones where she didn't get a refund (for whatever the reason. Maybe at that point she didn't know she could?). The INR's where she has left a positive all mention getting a refund.

I now believe that this was a genuine INR. I think if she was a scammer she would have negged you without giving it a second thought.

I'm surprised the mods haven't been around to remove the ID yet!

\

hI does anyone think this is right........I listed a cabinet saying it had lighting when the bidding closed and the buyer was coming to collect the next day i realized it did not have lighting so i messaged him the night prior to pickup, he thanked me saying i should relist, so i did, because of a policy i cannot change the description now for second chance offer to read correctly, we are not allowed to change the description 12 hours prior.

Clever scammers don't leave neutrals and negatives. They don't leave any trace of their habits.

I had one that glowing feedback, but they were a scammer, their spiel re not described was too well rehearsed.

After I looked at the "staged" photos they sent through of what was an immaculate garment I knew for sure they were.

I "lured" them into opening a paypal disute, and then I escalated it to a claim myself and did not cave to their demands - they backed off and requested that paypal closed the case as all was sorted - lol, sorted, yeah right.

The vast majority of sellers don't put any follow up comments to their own, or in a buyers feedback, when they have refunded.

What appears to be, isn't always what is going on.
