But if the seller doesn't know better & does a cancel they can leave fb.or get away with UPI strikes.

I do/did auctions (not currently listing) but did take note of buyer fb left for others.

These days that counts for much in risk management of what kind of eBayer i would want to deal with.Negs, low DSR,UPI etc.I see more than one whinge about sizing,INR or bad condition of clothes that looks like bs,i see a possible player that i don't want to gamble & play with.

I'd rather cancel & block.I'd rather get less $ & less problems.

I currently have a dress on auction, and the highest bidder has a low feedback score (no issue really as everyone has to start somewhere) but out of curiousity I clicked on their feedback - they are both false positives for non payment. With all the new changes to ebay selling Im gettting a bad feeling.

should I continue the auction and see what happens?

should I cancel their bids and block them ?

Im not particulary keen on emailing them as according to the feedback they kept saying they would pay but never did - I would rather avoid the hassle of a unpaid item dispute.

Any advice would be helpful.

thanks

I would cancel the bid & block them.

You are looking at low DSR if not a neg.

buyer fb left for others is a huge indicator of how things are going to go.

There will be no defects or negs if the buyer doesn't pay, especfiallly if the seller doesn't breach ebay policy by leaving false positives. If the sellers who left the feedback had gone through the unpaid item process they would have been unable to leave feedback, they would have got their fvf back and the buyer would have had two strikes so would have been blocked by most sensible sellers.

I usually agree with you Sheep but it isn't true that sellers can't leave feedback after closing a UPI and strike recorded. Buyers can't leave fb but sellers can.

A sheep in wolf clothing maybe?!?! hee hee!

It would be interesting to know how many feedback that bidders previous sellers had, given that it seems neither of them opened an UPI dispute against them.

I think you should always trust your gut and it sounds to me like you've done the right thing.

As for sellers leaving false positives, it's easy enough done. You leave them just prior to closing the case. I've tried in the past after the case was closed and was blocked from doing so (before I found out it was against the rules).
