Negative Feedback for multiply purchases! OUCH

I have been selling for a few years now and have had a perfect rating until lately. I have only just realised that if you sell multiply items and received negative feedback you get a point for each listing sold in that transaction. Hence if a customer buys 5 items and decides to give you negative feedback then you receive 5 points. But when you received poitive feedback you only get 1 from a customer even if they buy multiply items or purchase more than once within 7 days.

Does anyone else think this is wrong of ebay?

I'm very frustrated with the feedback system at the moment......

Yes I agree it is wrong.

The way the current feedback system operates is unfair, nontransparent and "protects" difficult, malicious, abusive and/or non-paying buyers.

Whilst there are several flaws in the feedback system, it does protect buyers against dishonest sellers:|

You only have 5 negs in total and only 2 from the same person, your feedback is exceptionally good considering the volume of sales and you have extremely good DSRs so if I were you I wouldn't spend time worrying about something that is not going to impact on your sales at all especially as two of the negs will drop off by the end of the month..

Seems you're a perfectionist and that's understandable. Like PJ said, don't worry about it. They haven't affected the overall success of your business and you're on track to making the same aount of sales per month as you have in the last 6 months, according to the figures so far.

Couldn't agree more with thecatspjs - ebay policies very one sided, think they forget without the Sellers the Buyers dont exist and nor would their profits.

As a Seller that I can only leave positive feedback is ridiculous - how does that warn other sellers - yet buyers can 'warn' other buyers with negative feedback.

Everyone is saying it - Time to start seriously researching alternative sales avenues to ebay.

It's not only buyers that can sometimes be the problem! While most buyers are brilliant, there are only a few buyers that will sometimes wreck it for some sellers! I left 5 or 6 lots of Pos FB, a few days ago for multiple purchases I made from the same seller, yet can only receive 1 or 2 pos FB back, FB is as important for buyers as it is sellers as it lets sellers know what kind of buyer they may be dealing with.at the time..

Feedback is NOT as important for buyers. Seller's feedback has ramifications more far-reaching than a buyer reading it; especially negative. Buyers can only get positive feedback, so the ramifications are less, ie non-existent.

As far as 1 dot for multiple purchases, I doubt sellers would be more inclined to trust a buyer with 1000 FB if that FB was received for 10 transactions.

449mag,you obviously completely missed all the posts supporting you re don't fret over it-thats a shame as you've shot yourself in the foot.

I've yet to hear of any other sites that will give you the exposure & sales that ebay does,

As for you stopping selling on ebay but happy to continue buying on ebay-huh?

That is where you are wrong, without buyers sellers don't exist and ebay knows this.

Its why so B&M stores fail because they feel they are more important than the customer.

And if you think the seller is more important then explain why the place over the rainbow didnt do really well, oh thats right there were very few buyers so the sellers left
