Music buffs please help

Here's the strangest request for help you'll hear for a while, I'm sure !!

If there are any (especially) classical music experts out there, you might be able to help me.

I have in my head the most sublime piece of Mozart music. I think its a Concerto but not sure (can't reliably identify the solo instrument from the music in my head)

I don't know its name. I can sing it accurately.

I want to know what it is, because in a short time, I want to be able to include it as one of the pieces of music, at my mum's funeral. (sorry, a bit morbid, but an impending reality for me)

Does anyone have any ideas about how to identify the piece just by hearing it sung?

If there are words in the song, in google type lyrics: <some words from the song> Make sure you put the : after lyrics.

If the search string I showed doesn't work, put Mozart: instead of Lyrics. Don't forget the colon after the first word! That way the search only shows results for lyrics or Mozart (depending on which one you use). If you know a line to the song, you should find it easily enough with the initial search string. They usually show at least one result from YouTube when you search for songs like that, so you can check if it's the right one.

Hello Betty..

Mozart music is hard - unless it's one of his operas - but I have been told of an app called SoundHound.

The idea is that you can point your phone (?) at the music and it will give you the song title, singer/composer and other info.

Now - if you can sing it accurately, try singing into the app (shades of the hairbrush as a teenybopper lol) and it may work.

Firstly, are you sure its Mozart?

Try Youtube. Search Mozart and listen to a few pieces til you find the one. Add in "concerto" to find all pieces written for a solo instrument (not matter what the instrument is) accompanied by an orchestra.

Mozart wrote mainly piano concertos - 27 for piano, only 5 for violin, one for clarinet etc etc

Its probably piano, and if youre not a classical music buff, its probably well known - is it in any ads or movies we might know?

There is a phone app called Shazam. If it's somehow able to be played audibly you could trying getting Shazam to try to identify it for you.
I have terrible trouble identifying music and artists and Shazam has never let me down once.

Try the slow (second movement) of Mozart's Clarinet Concerto. Thare are a few versions on You Tube I think.

Did you even read the original message? She was trying to find the song as her mother is close to the end and she wanted to play it at her funeral. Some people just don't think before opening their mouth. Heartless just doesn't cut it in this instance.

I'm guessing that as we haven't heard from Betty that the unthinkable may have happened 😞
