Changing ebay ID

I'd like to change my ebay ID to reflect what I currently offer. My question is, will I be able to reserve my current ID and reclaim it at a later date or will it just be up for grabs?

It will be unavailablle for a long time, I can't remember how long but it is years rather than months, sometimes they never become available. That includes to you as well so no you cannot reserve it.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, if even I can not change back, then I wont be changing. It's a shame really as this ID will be completely misleading.

If you change your ID the name is unavailable for 30 days.

After this time the ID is available to anyone to use.

If you wanted to retain your original ID for future use, I suggest letting the 30 days elapse from your initial change and as soon as your old ID name is available again create a new ID with this name (or rename another existing account ID you may have)

You can then "swap" over ID names in the future if needs be.
