Hello,

If anyone can help me I'd most appreciate it.

Buyer from Malaysia bid on item on Friday night and won.

They sent message Sat night to ask to cancel because they don't have the money (Uni student lol!)

No invoice sent, no checkout done, no payment made.

When I choose 'cancel order' from drop-down list it states this:

"Cancel this order
This order was purchased on ebay.com.my, so you need to go to that site to cancel the order."

I'm assuming that ebay.com.my is the ebay Malaysia site. I have listed the item on ebay Australia with international postage costs. I don't understand why I can't cancel order from my (sellers) Aust. site.

I have sold internationally many times no problem but I can't recall ever cancelling an international order for 'buyer changed mind' reason. Although at this point I can't even get to that option.

Anyone have any ideas? Or encountered this before?

Cheers

From my understanding you need to cancel it from the country in which the transaction/buy was generated in his case Malaysia.

I seem to remember there was a question regarding this recently.

I sell regularly internationally I haven't had this happen either ( running to touch wood all over the house) lol

Best of luck

No way would I offer a cancellation, I would wait 4 days and open an unpaid item dispute.

Thanks for your answers and comments. You help is much appreciated.

The problem was solved by logging into the ebay site of purchase (in this case eBay Malaysia) and using drop down list to resolve a problem>cancel transaction. All completed quickly because other party answered immediatly.

Find it strange that the seller has to go to another site to cancel a sale. Surely the seller should be able to do it all from my ebay in their home country. Another example of 'ebay logic' I spose.

If it were to happen again (with any buyer) I probably won't be as nice and take the advice given here. Potentially could waste many days waiting for (non) buyer to agree to cancel thus tying up stock etc....

Cheers 🙂
