As I have become very well versed in Keyword Spamming since September last year, mentioning more than one brand name in the title or description is a violation. One of my violations, under keyword spamming was for:

""to fit Baby Born, CPK's and Baby Alive and/or to Fit Baby Born" in the title and "including Baby Born, Cabbage Patch, Baby Alive" in the description.

and I think there were a few other sellers who got pinged around the same time:|

motherbear, I guess it's the sheer volume of reports from around the globe that makes it difficult for ebay to check all thoroughly. But definitely think each individual report needs to be looked at in context when an account is to be reprimanded.

I would never report one as yours, as I feel it is directly assisting the purchase rather than obvious keyword spamming.

Benefit of doubt always prevents unjust action compared to any real damage done if unactioned in this scenario IMO.

Very frustrating motherbear. Another thread was on here a few weeks ago, about a set of wheels which fitted certain models of car. So the seller listed each model in the title that they DO fit, and was pulled for it.

And Hawk, I reported a string of listings with violations, which were still up 4 days later. I emailed customerhelp_au@ebay.com with the details, and able to be more specific than the reporting process allows.

Had a "personal" reply same day and each of the listings had been pulled.

I remember the post about the wheels; and there's been others about a scrapbooking item that fits several models - alas these days such things are just not allowed.

I reported an item showing Australia in the location yet in the listing itself it clearly stated the item would be sent from Hong Kong. I followed up with ebay three days later, and their response was the item had to be reported to ebay in the country where the listing was done:^O

I have given up reporting keyword spamming because none are ever removed and the auctions are allowed to run for the full number of days.

I am fed up doing some searches because of the keyword spamming so in the long run ebay will lose buyers because it will no longer be worth the effort to spend hours searching through thousands of listings that have nothing to do with what the buyer wants.

No you definitly will get in trouble with ebay if you were to write Not in the title , I know because a long time ago I had written that " not fleecy " for a jumper top I was selling , however the timing that I was struck for the policy violation was weird , I sell a lot of Supre clothing and the was same week I received the violation was the same week the Supre official store opened on ebay and I suffered tremendously for it as my listings were harder to find if at all , so my advice is yes be very cautious when writing your title , I also think it would be a good idea for newbies to get at least one warning before issued with a violation .
