A set top box won't improve the reception that much.

we had the same problem from time to time and I replaced the aerial and has worked fine since.

In your situation I think it's probably the 3 or 4 way splitter box that takes the signal from the aerial and distributes the signal to other tvs as well as yours. There may be a loose connection on your line to your TV or your outlet may be faulty.

Hope this helps

I live in an hotel/apartment building and receive all free to air channels. The problem is that from time to time I cannot see some channels on TV - the picture comes and goes with digital squares on the screen. I have spoken to the bodycorp and have been told that there must some prooblem in my apartment because all other apartments in the building receive all channels without any problems. I have changed the cables to and from TV to the aerial socket, but no use. Will a set-top box solve my problem? thanks.
