Help with Postage

Hi All,

Been away from ebay for a long time so trying to list

POSTAGE COSTS I cant get my head around it Dont you go into tht post office website put post code to post code then the weight, then bingo the post cost is there

How do you guys do postage

You can do postage 2 ways – either flat rate or calculated. I am assuming you are using a normal over the counter postage method here, not Click and Send.

Flat rate – you CHOOSE how much you want to charge buyers for postage. This is most useful for items which have a uniform cost throughout Australia – like letter rate, large letter rate, satchel (500g, 3kg, 5 kg). Current costs for these can be found on the AP web site. You add any extra amount you want to cover the cost of handling and packaging, and select the postage service you will be using.

Calculated rate – You select the postage service – a parcel with signature on delivery costs extra, as does Express etc etc. Then you decide how much your packed parcel will cost and enter the weight on the listing. For calculated rate you also need to enter the size for boxed items, or you can select satchel/padded bag. This section for weight and dimension is found below the International Postage section. You can add an extra amount for handling if you wish. When a buyer clicks on an item, eBay calculates their postage cost, based on your post code and their post code (adding your handling cost if appropriate.) You also need to select a handling time.

If you wish to sell overseas, obviously you go through the same process for International postage.

"Then you decide how much your packed parcel will cost" should read "Then you decide how much your packed parcel will WEIGH"
