I hope everyone is having a nice weekend and everyone that has been feeling a little under the weather is feeling better now.</SPAN></P><BR /> <P class="mce-p"> </P><BR /> <P class="mce-p"><SPAN style="font-size: medium; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">Well yesterday, I had a day planned to work in PSP. Get tags in here for you all and catch up on some other online activities. But, as you saw <STRONG>Le-Anne</STRONG> mention, my hubby had an accicent and everything changed. </SPAN></P><BR /> <P class="mce-p"> </P><BR /> <P class="mce-p"><SPAN style="font-size: medium; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">Chris was working on taking his mountain bike apart because the frame needs welding and he was cutting through a very thick zip tie and using a lot of force. When the knife finally went through the tie, the force of the momentom just carried on and up and he ended up slicing his thumb severing the tendon and a nerve. This was 8:30 in the am. We went to the ER and they cleaned, stitched it and called a hand surgeon in Bangor (almost 3 hours away). The surgeon said come right down because he wanted to operate that day. After a dose of IV antibiotics, we were on our way to Bangor by noon and he was in surgery by 3:30 out at 6:30 and discharged at 7:30. He's in a cast for 6 weeks. And since tendons do not heal like bones or skin because they "stick" to whatever is around it, he will have to have a second surgery when the tendon is 100% healed to remove scar tissue so the thumb will bend properly. Since the nerve was severed as well, although repaired, it's hard to say how much feeling he will have in the thumb. It will depend if the nerve endings grow back beyond the point of reconnection. </SPAN></P><BR /> <P class="mce-p"> </P><BR /> <P class="mce-p"><SPAN style="font-size: medium; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">Since Shannon lives close by, she and her BF sat with me while I waited for the surgery to be done and then Chris and I spent the night in her apartment and came home today.<BR /></SPAN></P><BR /> <P class="mce-p"> </P><BR /> <P class="mce-p"><SPAN style="font-size: medium; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;"><STRONG>Mim:</STRONG> I had intended to send you an email but popped in here and saw Le-anne's post so I knew you sort of knew already.
