Fraudulent transaction

I have been trying to get someone from eBay to contact me since last year about a fraudulent transaction.
I was selling a pair of Nike TN Airmax 3 and got a buyer, whom made the payment for them (supposedly) never did, then sent a complaint to eBay saying that I never sent the product, and then EBay took the money straight out of my bank account. I told the buyer that I will not send the shoes, until the money clears into my bank account.
I asked him to please send me a screenshot of the payment he supposedly made, and he refused to do so. Please look at my account history to see the transaction and conversations between the supposed buyer. Thank you and look forward to your reply. 🙏

There are no screenshots attached, but please do not provide any personal information on the forum.

Are you fully signed up and ID verified for the new Managed Payments system?

Are you completely familiar with the Seller Hub?

The problem is that since you are a new seller, Ebay holds your funds for up to 30 days, but you are still expected to send the item (with tracking). You absolutely cannot make the buyer wait - you need to ship within your stated handling time.

Ebay would not remove funds unless the buyer paid, so it appears that the buyer paid, the funds sat as "pending", and you were expected to ship, which you didn't. No wonder the buyer opened a case.

So you have the shoes and the buyer has their money back? I don't see the problem.

To add to jelly's succinct answer:

eBay do not read or respond to board posts.

If you want an answer from eBay you need to contact them directly.

Be aware that call centre staff don't actually have any knowledge of how eBay works.

No the buyer did not pay, what he did was make payment, obviously took a screenshot of the payment then phoned his bank to cancel the transaction. I have prof from my bank that the payment was never sent. Thank you

I have tried to contact eBay directly but they are not very forth coming with contact information anywhere on there website.

I asked many times for him to verify payment, which you would if you had made a payment, but of course he refused to so not only did he not transfer any money, but also scammed eBay into taking money out of my bank account, unjustly. Perhaps I need to contact the ombudsman about this.

You are on managed payments, but obviously dont know how it works,

Your buyers payment would have gone direct to ebay. ebay would have advised you that your item had been paid for and that you were then required to ship the item (you do not get to wait until the money is in your bank account before shipping), and as a new seller ebay would have placed your funds on hold for 30 days.

As you obviously refused/failed to meet your responsibility in relation to the sale, the buyer would have been fully refunded by ebay, and you would still be liable for all ebays sales fees and any dispute resolution fees.

Learn how the system works or dont sell
