Scam ?

I’ve just purchased an item from a seller . An hour or so later I received a message asking to send a different (colour) item as the one I order is damaged and the last one .

sounds legit ….

now funny thing is I brought from this seller on the 2nd of December.

and the exact same thing happened, word for word exact message.

I fell for it the first time but now it’s feeling like a bait and switch.

thoughts?

1) It saves the seller from having to say they are out of stock, if you are happy to receive a substitute.

2) It is a known fact that eBay (in their wisdom) put items up for sale that the seller has already sold....this has been happening for years, and they are unable to 'fix it'

Does not sound like a very profitable scam, (like for like), (not happy decline the offer)

at least it is not claimed to be a sophisticated scam.
