That is what I would have thought

Not sure how the OP would go about opening a dispute for only two not as described based on them being late (and how late were they based on the latest estimated/guess date) if all four were supposed to be delivered together by x date

It would surely have to be all or nothing in such 'not as described' cases

I do agree with this.

One purchases an item - with an expected delivery date - which the seller is responsible for - given their sending preferences.

The item is for a special purpose/occasion - the delivery taken into consideration.

It arrives so late other arrangements have to be made - the late arrivals are no longer necessary.

I'd be going for seller pays the return - on any grounds.

Surely then all 4 items are NAD, and all 4 should be returned. Why should the buyer be able to pick and choose how many they keep.

I wonder what the delivery rate was for 4 Units , and what rate is expected for return of 2.

I used to offer blanket returns, but eventually stopped COM as it was being rorted by buyers keeping part orders and getting full postage refunds,

@ridcha-0 wrote:

I had ordered 4 mattresses which were delivered very late. So, now I want to return 2. They were not even opened but ebay is saying they will deduct 131$ each for not opening. What the hell. I want to return then and get my money back

I looked at a couple of mattress ads from the last seller to give you feedback.
Each ad had a tag that said free delivery in 2-4 days. So very late in this case may mean they did not arrive for 2-3 weeks.

Just so you know in case you use ebay again, ridcha, if a delivery does not arrive in the time span mentioned in the ad, you can bypass the seller and open an ebay claim for an undelivered item.

The second seller also sells mattresses, amongst other things, so it is possible ridcha bought his mattresses from 2 different sellers.

Ridcha, it is not ebay saying they will deduct $131 for each mattress. It would be the seller. Did you ask why?

Some sellers charge a restocking fee and even if it is not that, it could be the return postage cost? Although admittedly it does sound very high.

Your only recourse (I think) to get a full refund would be to open a not as described claim, as Casey said.

But it will depend on how the mattresses were ordered and arrived. If those 2 were a separate order to the other 2, then you could do it.

If, on the other hand, you ordered 4 mattresses at the same time from the same seller, then you probably have to open a claim to return all 4 of them as all 4 would have been late.

If you are not prepared to open an ebay claim-and that can only be done within 30 days of delivery- then I think you will be up for return postage cost, you won't get all your money back.

Hi stawks, ebay do now allow partial returns, but once that has been completed, they have no further claim on the products they keep, however in this case if INAD is based on late delivery then all products should be returned.

Hopefully the OP will return and let us know the circumstances.

Different sellers? Different mattresses ? Different delivery days ? Different orders?

On the off chance it helps, I'll add this

How to return multiple items

Multiples of the same item (already mentioned) – You can return some or all of them, but you can only open one return for the order. For example, if you bought five t-shirts from one listing, you can return two, but you won't be able to return the other three later.

Combined purchases from the same seller – You can return each item individually. For example, you bought three different books from the seller's store and paid for them together at checkout. You need to open a separate request for each book, because they came from different listings.
