Paypal unavailable when trying to purchase

I'm trying to buy an item on eBay, and after selecting Paypal as my payment method and logging into Paypal, it returns and says that Paypal is not available at the moment and to pay with credit card instead.

I can log into my Paypal account just fine through the Paypal website... so don't understand the problem.

There could be a glitch with either eBay checkout or the eBay/PayPal interface.

A few people have had problems with paying using PayPal in the last couple of days.

Try again later or tomorrow.

I had a customer encounter this a few hours ago, so I just sent a new invoice and they said that worked and they could pay.
