Have you tried the usual (clearing cache/etc) ?

Which browser are you using?

Are the photos the right format and within any size limits?

Have you tired uploading one photo at a time to see if that works?

Instead of attaching photos to a reply, try composing a new message.

Go to the user's profile or feedback page and use the "contact" link. If you are prompted for an item number, choose "not about an item". Compose your message and attach photos.
