That is something you need to ask ebay

They would be using an email address you provided for the account in question

Is the one you are trying to change it to one that you have already used in the past for another account?

What kind of error message do you get when you try to change it?

My first assumption would be what sandy said - that you might have used the new email address (the one you want to have) for another account in the past, as email addresses can only be used once. You can have multiple accounts, but the email address must be different for every account you create.

Further to what the others have said, you can't change it to an address that resembles your username. For example, you couldn't use elaroo49 @ gmail.com
