Recent fault in Discussion Board coding - notifications show no thread link

Since the day before yesterday, there has been a problem with notifications (on smart phone, not using the app).

There is no bell icon to advise users of a new helpful vote or solution to a thread, and also there is no link to the thread or post which was “solved” or given a helpful vote.

To illustrate, see the screenshot below. You’ll see the difference between notifications where there is a link to the relevant post, and notifications where there is no link. (I’ve scribbled out the names, and also red-arrowed where the link does appear as it should.)

Without a link, the notification is useless.

I request that IT fix this.

It's happening on my computer with Win 10 and Firefox Countess - eBay "enhancing" our boards experience.

.........or simply meddling with things just for the sake of it ( justifying their jobs ? )............

I am inclined to say it’s option nº 2.

You won’t have had the presumably visceral thrill of a notification experience even though I just gave you a helpful vote. That’s just frustrating!

It seems to be fine now, but... I had strange things happen with notifications around Thursday afternoon/evening and Friday - popups with notifications of kudos, but nothing on the notification page. Trying to figure out where the new kudos might be (I don't really post a lot), I found them, and everything seemed to be OK (date etc.), but nothing ever appeared on the notifications page itself.

Even worse was what happened some time ago. The popups indicated a name, the notifications page another name, the kudos themselves indicated the names I had noticed in the popups. Where the names on the notifications page came from was and remains a mystery.

Agreed. I would love to see more posts from quite a few people.

sandy, I’ve got the same issue still with any “helpful” notification where the first helpful vote was given during the Glitch Time. All other helpful notifications are back to normal.

Is that what you’re experiencing?

Maybe in the past, but I am going away soon and every time I want to post an image I have to delete another image (or more) because I have reached the maximum of 1000 images... 😞

But I agree that most people don't post much. As a matter of fact, many people ask a question and don't even come back to see the answers or to let us go how it went.

Paper - when the 1000 limit has been reached - I usually just go to the last couple of pages - delete the lot - keeps you going for a bit.

If the helpful was'nt in the Community Spirit arena, it would say what post it was for
