In the app, I:

- go to "2-Step Verification"

- select "eBay app" and press "Set up"

- choose "Text" and press "Text me"

- I receive the code by SMS and enter it in

- it just shows "Verifying" with the coloured line scrolling across the screen forever until after a minute or two I force-close the app

I have done this many times over the past few weeks.

I have my iPhone set to automatically update apps, so I presume it is the latest (v6.136.0.1)

I have power-cycled my phone.

The app has had problems for many years now, try going into the full site through a browser instead - or use a computer if you can.

The app is something that rhymes with app

Not something other members can overcome for you, so you either need to *hope* someone from eBay reads your post, or contact them for a scripted response
