the only warranties that 'work' are from authorised sellers in Australia.....everything else is rubbish.

If you harass the seller they can complain to eBay and have you 'booted off' the site

Customer Service - Warranties

These (2X For DEWALT 18V 5.0Ah XR DCB184 DCB184-XE DCB182 LI-Ion BATTERY PACK DCB182-XE) were sold to me with a five-year warranty, Yes that's right a 5 YEAR warranty, back in November 23. One has the life span of a fly ( about a day ) the other has been swatted, no life at all. I guess there is no more "LITHI" in the "UM". On 6 July 24 I sent the first message followed by another 3 over time. This mob obviously believes in the "silence is golden" theory. And their 5-year warranty is as useless as a chocolate teapot or fictitious.

So, I contact an agent on the eBay thingy, now after explaining the issue, I am told to wait as they are very busy and might have missed my message. Fair enough, so I wait and still nothing. I figure not hearing anything I would go back to the eBay chat. Well, it does not want to know me about this issue at all. The item number I had to produce has been wiped and getting onto anything other than an automated mouthpiece has not been helpful.

I think I should check out seller negative comments and there it is, problems with the same product, poor communication, slow or non-existent replies. and the list goes on. I'm glad I'm not hanging by the neck waiting for customer service from either seller or EBAY. This is what I am now considering, sending seller a message everyday for the next 4 years. What do you think?

so you read the feedback after you made your purchase. Thats logical.

Your story is confusing you say you bought them in November, but the ad was for 6 July 2024.

If as you stated one was dead when it arrived, you should have just opened a Item not as Described case and gotten your money back.

A warranty is nothing but words, unless it is legally enforceable. Don’t be taken in by mere flummery.

Warranty from a Chinese seller is as worthwhile as seagull poo. These sellers know full well that Australian buyers will be lured in with false assurances of a so-called warranty.

Buy from an authorised Australian seller if you need a warranty - and if you want to be certain you’re buying a genuine item. Expect to pay RRP or thereabouts.

Thank you for your support and falling into line with a broken system. It's not confusing it's about them selling a garbage product, regardless.

No, without intending to offend you, “the saying” is what I say, because it’s my saying. I might have decided upon warthog poo…

I didn’t reply in order to defend a system that is notoriously illegitimate. I laid out a reality – that if you want a warranty, buy from those who must comply with such a provision under Australian law. The ACL can’t be enforced upon a Chinese seller. It also doesn’t apply to buying from a private party.
