I think before you think about starting to sell anything at all, more important to make sure you have read everything you can about new sellers

Have you already signed up for Managed Payments?

Do you know about the holds on funds for new sellers?

Have you got 'cheap' items to start off with, to build a bit of feedback before selling more valuable things?

Do you know what to do in case of scammer buyers?

I agree with @sandy.

Much better to dip your toes in with some standard/vanilla listings so that you can see how the whole system works.

There's lots to consider when making listings, and it will all come down to whichever way you think is going to work for you.

A lot of Ebay is trial and error, especially when starting out.
