WHY ARE SELLER'S ALLOWED TO SAY THEY'RE FROM AUSTRALIA WHEN THEY MOST DEFINITELY AREN'T?

I'M WAITING ON A PARCEL WHICH SAID "FROM NSW AUSTRALIA" BUT TRACKING SHOWS IT'S WITH A COURIER IN IRELAND ..

I PERSONALLY AVOID BUYING FROM OVERSEAS .. IT'S JUST MY PERSONAL CHOICE.

I'M FED UP WITH SELLERS' LIES AND EBAY DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT 🤬

Stop yelling at other members

You are responsible for knowing who you are buying from

If it really did say the seller is registered in Australia (doubtful) the estimated delivery date should have been a dead giveaway

eBay is all about the buyer

If a buyer chooses to make bad buying choices and then do nothing about it, that is 100% on the buyer

You were not attacked. When you did your "due diligence" did you click on the seller's feedback to see where they are registered?

Of course I did. And yes they did go on the attack. There was nothing in the comments that was helpful. They were condescending and downright rude. I did not make a bad buying choice. It isn't my fault that the Seller quite obviously has their stock overseas. That's quite obviously why the delivery date was changed. It would be great if I could pose a question directly to eBay asking why Sellers are getting away with their underhanded behaviour. I'm no

But an expected and typical response from someone who objects to getting factual information

How dare you come on and start with yelling at other members who have nothing to do with your choices and then abusing them and making out you were the one attacked

At the age of 83 you are far too old to be throwing. five year old tantrum

Many other members here are close to that age or older and don’t find it necessary to spit the dummy

You say it went from the 4th - 12th May - could it be between the 4th &12th - expected delivery. If so then the item still could be delivered within the expected time.

Oh my goodness! This has to be the worst online experience ever. How the bleeding hell am I supposed to know that CAPITAL letters are looked upon as shouting? Oh my goodness you all have given me a great laugh. Perhaps, just perhaps, I was expressing MY frustration and anger about the Seller's handling of my purchase. Oh .. you guys are hysterical .. and obviously extremely touchy. How about this .. I think the perceived yelling is a load of old cobblers. I'm happy for the elderly & those with poor eyesight to use capitals. I also don't think the OP checked on sellers feedback to see where they are registered... it would not say Sans Souci... just the country of registration... but I'm not going push my luck by asking again.

@pete-kimmy_8, you may possibly be mistaking “item location” (shown in the listing) for “country of seller’s registration”. Country of registration is found by clicking onto seller’s feedback percentage (and then clicking all). It will say something like Registered since xx/xx/xxxx in Australia (or whichever country is relevant).

For listings, the seller can specify Sans Souci, NSW, Australia, but you wouldn’t see that in country of registration. That would literally be Australia, just Australia - or just China, or just United Kingdom, or just Germany, etc. That’s why people here are asking you if you checked where the seller is registered…

Could you post the item number here? – and we can check. In terms of EDD (estimated delivery date), sellers cannot change that. This date range is automatically generated by eBay based upon the carrier chosen, eBay’s information about delivery times, etc.

Sometimes these EDDs can be wildly wrong, but they seem to have become more accurate of late.

If the seller specified an Australian item location, it may be incorrect (and you can certainly report false item location), but it’s very very prevalent among Chinese eBay sellers in particular and it won’t be actioned by eBay as eBay.cn is governed by different rules, alluring Chinese sellers to partner with logistics companies and specify item location as Australia even if the item is in a Chinese warehouse or en route by ship or by plane or on the loading docks or in a logistics company warehouse in Chullora or whatever it may be. This is called “just in time fulfilment”.

Me thinks you are the one with problem. Capital letters mean nothing. Go away you sad soul .. don't blame me .. I am reporting you to eBay. Now, go away and find something or someone else to "**bleep**-a-crise". I appreciate some of the responses I have received. It has led me to lodging a few complaints to eBay. I've learnt a lot more about eBay and people. Thank you to all that helped steer me in the right direction. Please Note : I never "yelled" at anyone. Capital letters have never ever meant "yelling" to me and I've never heard such ridiculousness. I just wish the first response I received was less condescending and more helpful like other responses. I truly hope I never experience the nastiness I first received. This has given me a wonderful topic to discuss at my Community Centre. Search for some form of happiness in every day.
