What is going on?

My package has been in Sydney since the 14th and has not been delivered yet. This is completely unacceptable, as I know it does not take 2 weeks to clear customs (considering I have a background in logistics within this city and dealing with air/sea freight).

What on earth is going on with whoever DAI or A1 Tracking, or whatever they call themselves - who provide me with little to no relevant information other than my package came into Sydney on the 14th - have not sent my package to in over 2 weeks?

Who and how do I contact physically to actually speak to a human within Australia to deal with the issue?

Sorry, but that is exactly the issue - when i contact someone i expect an answer and the retailer has not responded. I expect to able to contact eBay to resolve such matters. There is no information regarding my package, other than stating it is in Sydney. It has been there since the 14th and i fully expect delviery within a day or two of arriving within Australia. What my other question relates to is who/how do i find out from eBay why it has not moved onto its delivery address after more than 2 weeks - it is comepltely unacceptable that i cannot contact someone to expidite the matter.

You can contact eBay, but posting on the member to member forum is not the way to do it. eBay is not a retailer and as has been said, eBay cannot tell you why it has not moved, how do you expect they would possibly have such information ?

OK - there seems to be some form of misunderstanding with the replies to my issue. As eBay Australia is a registered business within Australia, they are required to have customer service PRIOR to such dates or deadlines regarding many issues, matters, complaints, etc., that are based in Australia and available to Australian's to communicate with. If the original delivery date was the 18th and the package arrived on the 14th, then my package is late. eBay do not have carte blanche to 're-asign' a delivery date arbitarily as they see fit - that literally indicates that eBay Australia have controll over the package itself right now. Or there is information avialable to eBay Australia which is not being communicated to me, nor made avaiable to me when I inspect the shipping information. Non of that is acceptable. If my package arrived on the 14th it should have already been delivered and I am not paying eBay 'extra' to have some subscriptions service for normal delivery times...and the responses being provided seem to be insinuating such back handed practices.

There is no misunderstanding. You expect eBay to be able to tell you why your item has been at the depot for two weeks when they have zero way of knowing.

Nobody mentioned a thing about paying for a subscription, nor would having one achieve a thing

. eBay have zero control over the package, they are not the seller, the sender nor the delivery company .

Since you refuse to do anything yourself to find out where it is ((contact the depot/the courier/etc, or contact the seller to ask if they have any other information) and you refuse to accept the factual information you have been given by other members, you will need to contact eBay yourself (again zero reason why you can't)

Then read up on the buying basics and how eBay works

If your item was sent through eIS (eBay International Shipping), be aware it’s in no way a priority shipping method. Cheap services per leg of the journey are used.

Secondly, the delivery date you’ve mentioned is estimated, not guaranteed. It is also usually a date range, and it’s the latest estimated delivery date (EDD) that must be reached before you can begin to consider the parcel late.

Thirdly, I am not sure how recent your logistics experience was, but there are significant backlogs of parcels awaiting clearance, partly due to the flow-on effects resulting from COVID (still), large increases in the volume of parcels being sent, and partly due to increased international fraud scams and the need for additional screening events with fewer staff. Clearance can be fast, depending on the service used – but neither the Global Shipping Program and eBay International Shipping fall into that category.

Fourthly, 1-2 days after arriving on Australian soil…? No, that really isn’t a reasonable expectation as a general rule for a delivery that isn’t “express”.

If your concern is focused on when you’ll receive your parcel rather than whether you’ll receive your parcel, I can only repeat that you should keep an eye on the latest EDD, and if an item is urgently required by a certain date, you know the sort of thing that you need to do: order early, or order locally with express delivery, with any international purchases to be sent express in plenty of time.

If your concern is focused on whether you’ll receive the parcel, you’re covered by the MBG. Open a case for INR as soon as the latest EDD once it’s passed if the item still hadn’t arrived.

Fingers crossed in useless superstitious gesture that your parcel will arrive soon.

I've noticed a lot of commentary on my expectations regarding delivery, and yes I do have a logistics background. It takes a few days to clear customs, and considering the delivery address is a few suburbs from Mascot airport depot, that is not unreasonable: except now that the arbitrary delivery date change has passed, and I have utilised the 'item not delivered' function, I am being told I will be receiving a refund. I want my item found and delivered to me, not an arbitrary computer decision about what actions to take. If my item has been stolen or lost I expect an investigation and legal action taken, with monetary compensation well above any simple refund pertaining to the same amount of money spent by myself. I also do not want eBay Australia thinking it decides how to proceed with such actions, as they made that decision within a few minutes of my 'item not delivered' actions. That is also completely unacceptable, as I expect my item to be found and delivered. The language used is intentional - no company like eBay gets to remove itself from personal interactions with customers to thus insulate itself from personal contact to resolve matters, because that is fraudulent business practices. The 'love in' about hoe eBay works is bizarre, as is the expectation i 'cop it on the chin' about how their system functions. Everything about this entire matter is corrupt, just as the comments are by people clearly paid by eBay to cover for their fraudulent actions. Also, if I am getting refunded, then it better be much quicker than 3-5 business days.

Nothing to do with a love in and all about the comments made by other members being factual. It is not up to eBay to find your item, or chase it up for you and you do not get to open an item not received dispute until the item is overdue. Nobody said cop it on the chin, you were advised to contact the delivery company and the seller which you do not want to do. Nobody else is going to do it for you. Nor do you decide how long a refund takes as for your comment about other members being paid by eBay only proves you do not have a valid argument and can only resort to the usual attacks on other members people retort with when thy object to being given factual information

Nothing of the sort, thank you very much. I have contacted the courier services, they are not cooperating. I epxect eBay to resolve all and any issues with shipping. Its that simple. Non of what your tone impies is correct - I have a job that requires compltetion and I have been either robbed or decieved via a business utilising eBay. That makes it eBay's problem on all levels. All the comments about removing eBay from responsibilities is why my langauge is what it is. It is completely unacceptable for anyone to even provide such opinion about this entire process. So do not obfuscate why I have said what I have said. It has ruined a very important job for me and I expect eBay to pay compensation for that fact.

In a comment on your Original Post, your have written "Everything about this entire matter is corrupt, just as the comments are by people clearly paid by eBay to cover for their fraudulent actions"

All I can say is that I wish eBay paid for my comments/replies.

Why is it that you think posters are paid by eBay? Is it because they post content you do not agree with?

Good luck with trying to get compensation from eBay. Here's a commitment to you from me, I will give you ALL the money I have received from eBay for the comments/replies I have made on these discussion boards.

I will telepathically transfer the funds to your bank account in 2 seconds ... done!

"paid by eBay" . . . pfffffftttttttt!

It is common where I live to see the last tracking update at a freight depot, for me it is nearly always due to a transfer to another courier for local delivery.

I have utilised the 'item not delivered' function, I am being told I will be receiving a refund. Good Luck with that. If you read the eBay FAQs, you will find a refund is the ONLY option for an Item Not Received case.
