I like the idea about a small handling fee BUT where that option is situated would that include domestic postage as well as it is only needed for International domestic is fine

I have been selling Internationally using Calculated: Cost varies based on buyer location as that way the buyer gets charges what Aust Post charges me, no more. I am ok with that even though I lose money because of the fees. But now when I have a International sale the buyer is charged less as they get a discount but because I don't use flat rate I still pay the full amount to Aust Post, so eBay wants me to change to flat rate BUT when I tried it says flat rate etc but in the two empty boxes one for standard and one for express it says put in amount that the buyer has to pay. My issue is all countries have different postage costs. So what amount do I put in those boxes as if I put in a USA postage cost is is way different and higher than say to the UK or say NZ. How do I do the flat rate and not lose money. With calculated it is already all done for me. Do I have to somehow manually change every item and HOW!! thanks in advance, Peter

Why not keep the calculated postage and add a handling fee? It should only takes you a few minutes.

Edit: the easiest way to change postage in bulk is to create and apply a postage policy.

No. You set a domestic handling fee and an international handling fee separately. I have it applied to international, but not domestic sales

To add... if you already have a postage policy in place, when you edit that policy it will update on all listings to which it is applied.

You can check by clicking on "Business Policies" on the left side menu in Seller Hub

I don't know what I have done now, my International settings have gone and I could only find the handling fee under the International postage which as I said has disappeared.

I am having the same problem and I've spent days creating international rate tables and postage policies to get constant errors.

Sold to the US for the buyer to get the discounted postage of 18, then I paid 24 with a band 1 discount.

Whenever I try to attach my under 250g international rate table to a create a postage policy, I just get "Invalid request, please correct and try again"

Unless it's likely to bump you into band 2, why would you use a band 1 discount when eBay gives you band 2 savings - the exact same amount they charge the buyer.

I couldn't be bothered mucking around with rate tables. It's so much easier to use calculated postage and add a handling fee.

@katlockace17 - Sold to the US

Off topic but as you're an inexperienced seller, never sell more than you can afford to lose.

All an overseas buyer has to do is open an "item not as described" dispute and you'll very likely lose your money and your item
