Question Re: Ebay Store Fees (Technology Devices) in Selling on eBay

Unless you have well over 100 listings AND a good sell-through rate, having a store is pointless. Cancel it until you reach that rate.

Ebay Store Fees (Technology Devices)

I recently subscribed to a basic store bundle and just got done selling my first lot of goods only to be surprised by the fees. In the eBay store fee page, they state Technology Devices as Tier 1 with only 6% fees but this category doesn't seem to exist. There are ‘Electronics’ and ‘Computer/ Tablet & Networking’ for which I chose the latter and expected everything to work out. Turns out I'm being invoiced around 10.5% of the selling price which is even more than the priciest categories.

Can anyone help out on how I should list an item in order to fit into 'Tier 1 Technology Devices' because I genuinely think my listings were applicable? Thanks in advance.

When did you open the store? When did you list the item?

Anything listed before you opened your store will be charged at the rate prevailing at the time of listing.

The rate won't be the store one until they rollover at the end of a month.

If that's not happening (it should) you might have to end and relist.

@padi - if the fee difference is 4% the OP only needs to sell $700 per month to cover the store cost.
