Buyer asking for payment details

Does this sound like a scam?
I’ve had a buyer offer me the exact amount for an item I was asking for and in a message they have asked me to contact them for payment and shipping Because they want the item shipped today. Then given me their Gmail address?
Why can’t they just buy the item and pay through PayPal if it’s the exact amount I’m asking for? Why am I contacting them?

Don't, most likely they are a scammer

Especially when you are selling a very expensive item and are a new seller, screams scammer to me

Block them without responding

Thank you I think I will block them. Yes it’s worth a fair bit just seems so strange it’s very straight forward if you want it buy and pay for it. I don’t think I should be emailing them anything at this stage.

screams 'scam' to me.....and if they want you to sell to them 'off ebay', you can be assured that ebay are already watching the messages between you & you can both expect to be 'shut down' in a heartbeat. DO NOT RESPOND
