Question Re: refunds in Selling on eBay

Can someone please tell me if a buyer purchases a beanie and decides to return them by washing them and sending it back wet? eBay still gives them a refund. Is there a lesson to be learnt by doing this I sure am missing the lesson as all I can see is that I have lost the cost of materials. I was happy to refund the customer but not happy with the way they were sent back to me.

eBay would not have a clue if the item was sent back wet, or if an entirely different item was sent back

What was the reason the buyer wanted to return it?

You do not have to agree to returns if it was purely change of mind

Thank you for your reply, It was too small, I get that and was happy to refund but to have them return washed and wet is my gripe

My ' gripe ' would have been - if washed - it must have been worn.

Worn AND had a noticeable reason for needing to be washed. Even more not nicer-er

They could have just tried it on with some stuff in their hair, like gel, and particularly if it was small, maybe this stuff was visible and sticky on the interior of the beanie, and maybe it even smelled. However, it is also possible that they wore it for a few days.
