Question Re: What would be good manners for a seller, how quick should a seller contact a buyer. How soon should a seller post. in Selling on eBay

Thanks for the comments. I'm quite surprised I did not realise (have been selling for a while) that it isn't a requirement to contact the buyer and let them know you have received their money and have posted their item. I always do this and always will - I think it is a good habit to get into and helps to retain customers.

However, it seems some don't do this and don't care if you are left wondering what the hell is happening - as a buyer I like to be informed, and have resorted to asking the seller if they have posted my item - but still no response from the seller.

Wonder why manners and good business etiquette have flown out the window. Just because I can't be seen doesn't mean I want to be ignored.

It seems to me that many newer sellers appear to be a younger age group and don't have the manners or etiquette that older generations use.
