Charged twice by E-Bay

Hi, I placed an order yesterday (17/05/22) consisting of a couple of things.

For E-Bay's information if they're monitoring this page the order numbers are 22-08630-95727, 95728 & 95729.

The total was $230-96. My credit card has been debited with that amount twice though.

I can't find a contact email address for E-Bay direct, just wondering will E-Bay credit me the overcharge when they realise the error? If not, how do I contact them please?

This is a member to member forum which eBay do not read

The email address only goes to a bot system which spits out generic replies (if any) based on key words

You can go to 'eBay Help' at the top of any page to contact them, you may need to do a little bit of scrolling

Were they both 'confirmed' payments, rather than one of them being 'pending' ?

There have been cases here (if you search the issue) where people have been charged twice because one payment was an authorization (which is paid back into the bank account a few days after the real payment).

I am not sure why it works this way (maybe someone who works for a bank knows), but it has happened to many people, and in a few days the authorization payment should be back in your account.

Hi Sandy, thank you for replying. Yes they are both sitting there as 'pending' which still seems strange to me..

A proforma payment is actioned to make sure it doesn't bounce and incur fees. When it clears the real transaction then goes through, crediting the first trial payment.
