I've tried to cancel a return dispute, but the process fails. What should I do?

Why are you trying to cancel?

Has the seller asked you to, making you promises if you do?

Or do you actually want to cancel, your own choice?

Is this from the seller in China with the questionable feedback?

The Seller was on vacation and did not respond to my messages earlier. He has subsequently returned from vacation and messaged me to close the dispute in order to process an AU $8 partial refund in-lieu of the item's return. Thanks

A common tactic. If you escalate the dispute within eBay's timeframes, the seller will have to provide return postage to get the item back. Hardly worth it to the seller if they are i China; the cost would be way more than the item's worth. Escalate the dispute when you can, and reconsider buying from China. If that's the case.

As has been said, do not close it. the seller is not going to refund anything. They are trying to trick you
