i bought an item and paid, next day seller sent a refund with no reason

What are the rules when you buy an item and the seller sends a refund and no reason why.

No specific rules, especially if the seller is O.O.S.

Not good form to not give any details but sellers can also choose with whom they sell to.

I would just move on and find another seller.

"O.O.S" = Out Of Stock.

This has happened to me also. Very rude seller. When they cancel a sale, they have to give a reason.  If they choose "out of stock" They get a black mark against them.  Some cheeky ones will mark it as (buyer requested to cancel) to get around this. Seems this is probably what they have done, as you would have gotten a message asking if you would agree to the cancellation otherwise. I could still leave feedback for mine and so left them the feedback they deserved. So, I would suggest you do the same if you can.
