After paying postage and item cost can seller request you either pick up or pay extra for the postag

After paying for an item and postage the Seller is now saying it is going to cost more to post so is offering me three choices.

Pick up item - in spite of having already  paid for postage.

Pay extra for postage - however much that might be, after the sale was already finalised.

OR cancell the transaction completely.

Are they allowed to do this? I thought sales were final? Specially since I have already paid in full?

Thanks for your imput,

Barbara.

You are only obligated to paying what is shown in the listing.

Some sellers may make mistakes when they work out postage costs so if you really want the item perhaps suggest that each of you pay 50% of the difference or ask the seller to cancel if you are not prepared to pay the full difference.
