Opened a wrong category case

I've accidentally opened an item not arrived case that should have been a defective item case. If I closed it, would I be able to open a new one for the defective item?   Or should I wait for Ebay to get back to me?

I'm wanting to return the item as the seller does not do partial refund, thanks

Don't close it or you'll probably find you cannot open another dispute, wait for eBay to get back to you.
