Removing foxing from vintage fabric...

What's the best method for getting those brown foxing marks from vintage fabrics - cotton and linen...?

Or are they permanent?

many thanks.

I have used lemon juice and salt successfully although you need to test for colourfastness first.

thank-you for your reply - what type of concentrations? or dilutions - I have been using nappy san - which is good - but sometimes seems to shrink embroidered cottons for some reason.

I've used lemon juice on cross stitch fabric and ended up with the fabric even more yellow than before from the lemon juice, so be careful.
