10ct craftsman ring

Hi,

I just came across this ring in a bag of estate jewellery. Would anyone know what era it's from or anything about these type rings. Its carved on the sides and looks like small sapphires in the squares (not sure on other stones). Looks like it's marked 10ct CRAFTSVAN but might be CRAFTSMAN.

The design is typical 1940s in my opinion - not unlike my mother's engagement ring. But of course designs were copied for many years. I would think it says Craftsman  - 10ct certainly suggest USA and this site

says Gem-craft Founded by Gene & AlfeoVerri soon after the end of WWII was originally called Craftsman. Sounds quite possible to me. The only thing that would worry me is that more usually USA gold would be stamped 10k rather than 10ct but you do see both. With 10ct mark on vintage jewellery you can be pretty sure / certain it's not UK or Aussie.

Best I can suggest. Of course it could be on the boat direct from China .... but I'm sure you can tell if it's new or not.
