Any recommendations for a basic.....

MP3 player?  I don't need an ipod, just something easy to use

that plays music and nothing else -  don't need phone, FM,

video, etc. .
I know nothing about these and have no 5 year old around me to explain, lol,

I see you can get them for around $30 up.
Would these be able to rip CDs from my computer?

And could I download music free or must I pay for it.

Don't need huge storage either - I want to download some

classical  music also rock and a variety of music.  .

Good sound quality would be nice.

I will get it from a store.

Any input most welcome.

Roserobin that's interesting as I'm just  looking at a
San Disc Sansa Clip Zip on ebay, new for $95 I think.

I like what you say about "so easy to use" and that they

rip cd's and use drag and drop.

It's very small is only thing and maybe I'd want

a larger screen.  But so far it's looking interesting.  .

Get the Cheapest Ipod  - about $ 50 - ipod nano  - well worth the little bit extra

Easy to use  and will save you the hassle of the fiddly cheap versions

all you have to do is drag and drop your songs

dont you have to sign up with itunes with an ipod nano?

Then its a little bit more technical if you get your songs for "free:.

Itunes doesnt like you putting free songs on your ipod.

I figured out how to do it though B-)

Ha ha, my ebay cheapie was about $20 including postage. I wanted it for work and it risked getting wet, hence the need for a cheapie. It's been wet, steamed, frozen and still going strong   :^O I spent more on rechargable batteries and earbuds than on the MP3 player.   :^O

My son recommends an Ipod Shuffle ... check eBay - they start at under $10.00.
