I was approached by a beggars this morning outside the local Woolworth's store. I had just finished my shopping when is male came over to me and asked if I could give him some change I replied that I don't carry cash on me I only use plastic. He then replied "Well you can go to the ATM and get me $20"
Me "No I can't"

My reply would have been, sorry, no.

I would have been hesitant in getting my purse out, maybe they would have made a quick grab of your purse and ran off with it. Years ago in the local coles car park I had dd in the trolley unloading the groceries into the back of the wagon, was approached by a couple in their mid 30's, well dressed and said they had missed the bar and could they have a couple of dollars. Stupid me gave them a dollar, thankfully nothing happened, but it could have.
A few years later I had to go to Redfern and was walking and was approached by a young girl on a bike who asked for 40c. Don't think so.

my sister was approached by a bloke once that asked her for the time. When she raised her arm up to look at her watch he grabbed her wrist and tried to drag her away. He succeeded with another girl, did bad things to her but was later caught

Did you go back into the store and complain to management, not a good look for the store

Hi Hawk
There are 2 of these males and while they hang around Woolworth's they disappear when the managers from both Woolthworth's and the Commonwealth Bank which is close bye appear.
But they come back when the managers go back inside. The police also patrol the area regularly.

I have had males ask me in the past for money in a McDonald's car park and another time in a Woolies car park.
I usually keep walking when people like that approach me, don't even listen to what they are saying. Then you see them approach the next available person.

Gosford is getting to the point of more beggars than non beggars at the main bus stops.
I was going to my garbage bin one night last winter and someone approached me in the car park and asked for $30, I started to give him a lecture on budgeting and that most pensioners manage their money so that they don't need to go around scaring the bejesus out of people in their own carpark and before I could continue he walked off swearing something about nagging and naggers.
Oh well, he must have been having a bad night.
