Hi everyone,

I have 2days and 2 weeks to find somewhere to live. Landlord is putting the rent up and we cant afford it. I have asked 2 friends if we could stay with them if needed and 1 said she couldnt be bothered cleaning out the back room and besides isnt there some homeless shelter we could go to.
another friend and I use the term friend loosely said yes at first than changed her mind a few weeks later sighting that she didnt know where her b/f who was coming out jail for digitally penertrating a minor would be staying. I got irate that someone would chose such a person over a mother and child but so people are priceless.
I have one other friend to ask but I'm a bit scared for fear of rejection.
1 organisation that finds emergency accommodation said their list is blown out and is only temporary. I suppose we could get a room in a motel for a week but we have animals I would rather stay in the car than abondon them.
There is absolutely nothing in T'ville in the way of a 2 bedroom that accepts pets and is decent.
I put an ad in the paper a few months ago and got some responses 1 chap I got in contact with has been looking since than with no luck.
I have been to Dept of housing but they all cive the same answer there is nothing and they usually rely on people coming up with their own solutions.
I think my solution is to give up on everything atm.

Kezza have you tried your local salvation army centre........and also have you tried contacting your local gov. member........put the situation to him or her.........very tough when you have a child as well:(

Hey JVH glad you enjoyed your 'son' time! Good luck with the tradies and enjoy that lovely weather. Sorry to hear regards your cousin - my sis going through similar with her ex. I have offered to take her 3 kids for a few days to give her a reprieve otherwise I may go to her.

Dame was thinking of you while in the dentist chair today (only in the nicest possible way) when he said he was checking my mouth for 'nasties' - thankfully check-up revealed just a small cavity. Hope you are way better now and healing well!

Kezza hang in there - and do check with your friend you may be pleasantly surprised. Otherwise think you really need some 'new' friends. How this can happen in this great country of ours is mind-boggling. Thinking of you and sending the best - might I add it is great to see you in here you were missed - hoping good things happen soonest!

Hi everyone and just popped in been busy all day with the painter......the place is taking shape very slowly:(...........painter in again in the am.........been a real labour to put it mildly:)

Evening all from a very wet Alice. Been raining all day and cold. We went to the casino and had a flutter. Came out in front, so that was nice. Tomorrow, not sure what we are doing. As long as it does not involve the hospital or doctors I will be happy.

I got the results Diverticular disease and hiatus hernia. Just need to be a little bit careful with the old diet. No more grainy breads for me. lol Or tomatoes, strawberries, cues or anything with seeds and nuts. But I can live with that if it means no pain. Of course somethings like tomatoes can scrape the seeds out. Just another two things to add to the growing lists of ailments as I age. Though I do not even want to think of the alternative.

It is Northern Terrority and the fireworks are going off all over the place. Not annoying us though. Nice to know people are having fun as long as they are careful.

Kezza I am sorry to hear of your troubles. Hope you find somewhere soon. Is the rent going up by much. As I think they can only increase it by a certain amount. Not sure though. And you keep a lovely house. I have been there and know that, so they may be cutting of their nose to spite their face. I know I would rather have a good tennant in my rentals than put the rent up too far. But that is just me.

The Salvos do bugga all families are sleeping behind their building. Organisations that are in place by the Government do bugga all at all basically they hope for the people in my situation to come up with their own solutions. One would therefore wonder why they have the funding in the first instance to assist people when in actuality they cant.
PCT I moved from that house and the landlord has sent me a notice to leave that is she said she would drop it off Tuesday than said she's post it and I still havent got it. I think she's playing funny buggas with me. If I had the form I could drop it into Dept of Housing and they may be able to assit me if a miracle occurs. Until I ge that piece of paper my hands are tied.
Btw her hubby was the christian.
A chap contacted me on a roommates group I am with I am a bit weary as he is an older male and I have a young son.

Kezza, contact your rental tribunal in your state. She can not just hand you a piece of paper, notice has to be served properly. I think its 28 days from the time you receive the notice. If you can not find a property I have a feeling she still can not just kick you out.

Please phone them and find out your rights. I am really sorry you are in this situation, it must be terribly difficult. The only other thing I can suggest is contacting some of the disability housing groups, thats if it was you that mentioned your son had special needs? I'm sorry I can not quite remember.

Could you also try your local church? Your landlord can not just hand you a piece of paper demanding you get out when it suits her, the appropriate notice has to be given. So please call up and let us know how you go.

Hello everyone else, thankyou all heaps for your kinds words over the last few days. Lil one is still here surprisingly, things are still to be worked out, not sure yet of time frames or what will be decided. Can't say much more than that. Except its a rotten situation for him in the long run.

Still all we can do is keep being a place of refuge for him. PJ wonderful news about your results. Miss so lovely to hear from you, you are always cheerful and bright. Love that about your posts!!! PCT glad you found out what is troubling you, I hope you start to feel much better soon.

Evening all. Feeling much better and just let's say the stuff they gave me is working. lol

Stayed mainly in camp today. Hopefully will be up to a drive tomorrow. We leave here Tuesday so I want to get some more sightseeing in.
