Children in 1st class

A  father has written a nasty piece about a disgruntled passenger in first class that was seated next to his toddler daughter.

Is he for real?  I would have been furious to have paid for a first class airline ticket and then be forced into baby sitting a two year old.

I think the airline was wrong and the father is a nong.  What do you think?

Re: Children in 1st class

kids should not be allowed on planes full stop. send them by sea.Smiley Happy

when i have looked into the first class cabin it is ussually only 2 seats across in each row.

did the parents sit in 2 seats next to each other and put THEIR kid next to someone else.

think we aren't getting the full story

Re: Children in 1st class

i think the passenger that complained is a nong. The flight wasnt even long haul.. it was about 2.5hrs long. Some people are so precious.

I don't get why you said the male passenger was 'forced into babysitting a 22mth old child'.

Re: Children in 1st class

Both the male passenger and the mum with child were uprgraded to first class. not as if they paid big $$ to be there.

Dear Mr. L -

Congratulations on securing your upgrade from IAD - IAH yesterday on UA 1149 from economy to seat 1K! I'm sure that it expected to be a pleasurable experience for you.

You arrived on the plane late, and obviously very rushed. I can only imagine your SHOCK and utter dismay when you arrived at your seat and discovered my lovely wife seated in 1L with my 22 month old child.

No Mr Grizz.  That isn't the full version of the story.  It is the father's version of events and from what I can gather he wasn't even on the plane.

I don't have a problem with children but if I had paid for a seat I wouldn't expect to be seated with a two year old that likes to wriggle and jiggle and get up and get down and chat to you when I want to relax.  If it was three seats across, why didn't the mother sit next to him and have the toddler on the other side?

It appears the child was well behaved, he wasn't babysitting her?

Re: Children in 1st class

What was with the babysitting comment OP? Flight was 2.5hrs.

That guy may very well have his own children one day and take them on planes for holidays.. then he will realise what he prat he was. I have relative in England (youngish male) who travels down long haul to visit his family.. he loathed kids on long haul planes.. fast forward a few years has 2 of his own under 3... now travels 22+ hour flights with them & his wife.

The mother would have been assigned a seat number for herself and one for her child.. she did what is required.. you sit in the seats assigned to you.

Re: Children in 1st class

Maybe he will Am and he can sit with them and not get upset when another man doesn't want to.

Oh, you edited your post. rolleyes1_a.gif

All I meant by babysitting is that the man would have had to been involved.  Kids ask questions and like to chat.  If the kid tried to eat the earplugs he would have stopped her Smiley Very Happy
